In this section, we include a selection of frequently asked questions and hope that you will find the answer to your question. If not, please feel free to email us and we will answer your question that way.
Can I skip a level of training?
With us, generally no. We believe that completing level 2 and 3 qualifications are essential as they provide the foundations of what will become your counselling practice. We use building a house as an analogy, you wouldn't want one that didn't have solid foundations.
In our experience skipping a level of training is not helpful to the student or their clients. Counselling is very different to social work, support work, teaching and nursing etc. What a counsellor is trying to do in their work differs greatly from these professions and so although you may have a higher level qualification than a level 2 or 3, you will be missing out on fundamental training and experience by missing out on a level of training. This will impact on your participation and enjoyment of a course and more importantly your practice as a counsellor could be adversely affected, creating a problem for future clients.
Our previous experience of allowing people to skip levels is that the student often feels out of their depth and can struggle with the written work required for the course, which most students get a grasp of during the lower levels of training.
Can I pay for my training with a 19+ Student Loan?
We do not offer this system. We have taken the decision to put our time and attention into designing and delivering high quality training, rather than ticking OFSTED boxes. We are monitored for the quality of what we offer both by an independent internal quality assurance officer and by our awarding body CPCAB and do not feel another level of quality assurance is required. We do offer our own loan system for each level of our training and details of this are available upon request.
